A water main break caused flooding on Columbia Pike. [Fairfax County Police Department photo] |
The Fairfax County Police Department called the road “unstable and buckling” and closed that part of Columbia Pike for several hours while workers with Fairfax Water made repairs to the 16-inch water main. Initially, Fairfax Water predicted it would take 24 hours, but the repairs were done and the road was reopened by 2 p.m.
