There were two unrelated attempted robberies in Mason District on Dec. 16, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
At 10:20 p.m., two victims walking on the 3300 block of Glen Carlyn Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads were approached by a man who displayed a hammer and demanded money. The victims ran and called police. Jose G. Fuentes, 50, of Falls Church was arrested and charged with robbery. There were injuries.
At 11:11 p.m. a man entered a store in the 6200 block of Little River Turnpike in Lincolnia and demanded money from an employee. The employee refused and the suspect fled. The suspect was described as black, in his 20s, and about 6 feet tall.
