Merrifield Center |
The CSB is a public agency that links residents of Fairfax County and the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church to local treatment and resources for mental health and substance use issues. It also provides services to help people with intellectual disabilities. About half of the CSB’s workforce will move to the Merrifield Center, with the rest of the staff continuing to provide services at other CSB locations throughout the county.
The CSB’s 24/7 emergency services and mobile crisis team will be headquartered in the new building, as well as the CSB’s Entry, Referral and Assessment team. The Teen Alternative Program will relocate from Reston to the Merrifield Center. A key CSB partner, the Department of Family Services’ Anger and Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment program, is also coming to Merrifield.
The Merrifield Center will also have peer support services, a primary health care clinic, and a pharmacy. Inova Health System will lease the building’s fourth floor.
Woodburn Place Crisis Care, the CSB’s adult residential crisis stabilization program, will remain at its current location on Woodburn Road. The CSB’s Infant and Toddler Connection staff will not be moving, but will continue to offer services at their current locations, including Annandale.
The moves will take place during weekends to minimize disruptions. Here’s the schedule, although there might be changes depending on the weather.
