“No crime is too insignificant to report, and often, these figures and incidents are used by crime analysts to detect trends and insert proactive, preventive measures,” states a news release from the FCPD. People who report a crime online will be notified of a report number they can give their insurance company. “If appropriate, an officer will notify and/or respond to the complainant.”
FCPD suggests the online system also be used for reporting larceny/theft under $5,000, telephone harassment/threats, trespassing, lost property, civil disputes, unoccupied hit and run crashes, solicitor violations, destruction of private property/vandalism, larceny/theft from motor vehicles or parts, and suspicious persons/vehicles. Call 911 for crimes in progress or more serious incidents.
