Creative Cauldron, the performance venue in the City of Falls Church, is stepping up with an alternative – the Passport to the World concert series streaming in multi-cam HD from its new Live Stream Studio.
The concerts feature blues, jazz, Latin, fusion, bluegrass, and folk Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. through the end of March. All shows are $15.
Here’s the schedule:
Feb. 5 – Project Locrea, a musical alliance combining traditional and Western instruments, created by flutist Yana Nikol.
Feb. 6 – Karen Kelleher of “Beauty and the Beast,” presents a concert called “There and Back Again.”
Feb. 12 – An Abby Lincoln Tribute with Michael Bowie, Shacara Rogers, and Janelle Gill.
Feb, 13 – Raymi, a D.C.-based band led by Juan Cayrampoma features the haunting sounds and mystic power from the Andes.
Feb. 19 – D.C.’s Greats of Jazz Guitar features Jan Knutson, Steve Abshire, and Steve Herberman.
Feb. 20 – Sally Imbriano presents George’s White-Hot Scandals, a cabaret in homage of her Australian roots and stories of the Lost Generation.
Feb. 26 – Yasmin Williams, an acoustic finger-style guitarist with an unorthodox, modern style of playing.
Feb. 27 – Carl Williams: Diametrically Opposed Bros: A TBG Cabaret featuring big band, musical theater, and pop music favorites with guest performer Andres Ponce.
March 5 – Jake Blount, an award-winning banjoist, fiddler, singer, and scholar based in Providence, R.I., is half of the internationally touring duo Tui.
March 6 – Susan Derry, a Broadway performer featured at Creative Cauldron’s popular holiday cabaret.
March 12 – The Seán Heely Trio presents Celtic music featuring fiddle champion, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Seán Heely.
March 13 – Wyn and Leigh Delano present “I Always Play the Villain.” Wyn Delano Leigh sings the deliciously evil and cathartic songs from the Broadway canon accompanied by spouse and master pianist Leigh Delano.
March 14 – Sophia Manicone, cabaret soloist and rising star in local theater, presents “Just a Phase.”
March 19 – Irene Jalenti is back at Creative Cauldron, where she brought a Beatles jazz homage to the 2019 festival.
March 20 – Kara-Tameika Watkins presents a concert called “Locked in My Soul” about self-discovery and reflections of life during a pandemic.
March 26 – Cissa Paz brings a captivating stage presence and soulful voice to a concert focusing on Brazilian music.
March 27 – Veronneau, an award-winning Latin, jazz, and samba duo.
