Boy Scout Troop 875 urges the community to participate in this year’s Scouting for Food campaign by bringing food to Sleepy Hollow United Methodist Church, at 3435 Sleepy Hollow Drive, on Saturday, Nov. 14, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

“More than ever, food pantries are looking to restock their shelves as a record number of people are using their services,” Troop 875 states. “Local food banks are being overwhelmed by requests from families that lack emergency financial resources and have not had the ability to stockpile food.”

Troop 875 will deliver the donated food to the Annandale Christian Community for Action (ACCA) food pantry.

Due to COVID restrictions, the Scouting for Food program, which is normally conducted door-to-door, is being done differently this year. Community members are asked to bring their donations to the parking lot behind the church and pop open their trunk. Scout volunteers from Troop 875, Pack 1229, and Pack 855 will collect the donations.
