Members of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church collected a record 1,114 pounds of canned goods and other non-perishable food Dec. 16 from neighbors in their annual “Caroling for Cans” drive.
The carolers brought Christmas cheer to 250 homes near the church, at 3233 Annandale Road. The food will go to Food for Others, which will distribute it to needy families. The church also raised nearly $600 in cash donations for Homestretch, an organization that helps homeless parents.
