Annandale Man dies after crashing into a house

A driver died of his injuries after crashing into a home in the 8500 block of Little River Turnpike in Annandale, near Northern Virginia Community College, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.



John Carey, 66, of Annandale, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant of the car. The residents of the house were not injured.

The accident occurred at 2:35 a.m. on Sept. 19. Detectives believe Carey, driving a Subaru Legacy, was traveling northbound on Wakefield Chapel Road, when he continued through the intersection at Little River Turnpike and into a house. Speed was a factor.
