The Fairfax County Police Department’s weekend crime report includes a robbery and an armed carjacking in Mason District.
A man who had advertised a game console for sale was robbed on Dec. 8. He had agreed to meet a potential buyer at about 6:15 p.m. in the 6500 block of Little River Turnpike.
The buyer tried to purchase the item with what appeared to be fake currency. A struggle ensued at which point a second suspect appeared and displayed a weapon. The suspects fled to a nearby car with both the money and game console. The victim was not injured.
Also on Dec. 8, a man was walking to his car at about 10 p.m. in the 5800 block of Oakview Gardens Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads when a man approached him, put a gun to his head, and demanded the keys. A second suspect appeared and entered the driver’s seat.
The suspect holding the gun then got into the passenger’s seat and the men took off in the victim’s car. The victim was not injured. Both incidents are under investigation.
