Temporary Halloween stores are popping up all over the area.
Spirit shops – selling a large selection of costumes for all ages and Halloween decorations – have opened in the former Staples store in Pinecrest Plaza, the former HH Gregg store on Columbia Pike in Bailey’s Crossroads, and the former Tuesday Morning on Route 50 in Graham Park Plaza.

Christie Pesavento, assistant manager of the Spirit in Pinecrest Plaza pointed out some of the new costume themes for 2017: the “Stranger Things” TV series, the creepy clown from the “It” movie, and the “Hocus Pocus” Disney movie. Wonder Woman is likely to be popular this year, thanks to the hit movie.

The store also has realistic animatronic characters like a levitating lady, a lifelike monster, and an alien hidden in a cloud of fog.
