The Wendy’s restaurant at 4042 Little River Turnpike, in the Kmart parking lot, is permanently closed.
The owner of the Wendy’s franchise, NPC International, based in Overland Park, Kan., recently acquired 140 Wendy’s, primarily located in the Baltimore, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., markets, says Jerrod Mitchell, marketing director for Wendy’s at NPC.
“As part of the transaction, NPC has agreed to reinvest substantially into these markets to help re-energize the Wendy’s brand by remodeling 90 of the acquired restaurants by the end of 2021 and building 15 new Wendy’s restaurants by the end of 2022,” Mitchell says. “A minor component of this transition is the closing of a few locations due to expired leases.”
A note on the building advises customers to go to another nearby Wendy’s at 7530 Little River Turnpike, which is next to the Annandale Swim and Tennis Club.
