Registration is now open for the Taste of Annandale 5K Race. The 5K takes place Saturday, Oct. 1, 8 a.m., before the Taste of Annandale gets under way at 10.
The Taste of Annandale is a family-friendly community festival with food from local restaurants, live entertainment, a children’s corner with a full schedule of activities, a chill cook-off featuring the police fire departments, and more.
The event will open with the awards ceremony for the winners of the 5K Race.
Runners (and walkers) are encouraged to register online with Runtime Fitness, the organization planning the race and providing official timing. Registration is $30 and includes a T-shirt and refreshments. On-site race day registration is $40 and will open at 6:45 a.m. and close promptly at 7:45.
The 5K starting point will be in the parking lot by the Juke Box Diner on Columbia Pike. The route will head north on Columbia Pike, go through Mason District Park, then head along Alpine Drive, Roberts Avenue, Little River Turnpike, Evergreen Lane, and back to Columbia Pike. Participants can park at Annandale United Methodist Church (AUMC) or Kmart.
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female overall winners and to the fastest runners in several age categories: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and up.
