The new LongHorn Steakhouse in Bailey’s Crossroads officially opens for dinner Monday, May 16, at 4 p.m. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. that day. The restaurant is at 3562 S. Jefferson Street, across Leesburg Pike from the Skyline Center.

“At LongHorn, we pride ourselves on our fresh, never frozen, expertly grilled and boldly seasoned steaks,” says company spokesperson Vanessa Tostes. “We’re also proud of our friendly service and restaurant atmosphere, which celebrates the natural beauty of the American West.”

The menu features a variety of steaks, like the bone-in “outlaw rib eye,” grilled chicken, marinated salmon, and slow-roasted baby back ribs. Entrees come with a hand-chopped salad, freshly baked honey-wheat bread, and a side dish, such as mac and cheese.

There are also seasonal specials. Items on the summer menu include a fried green tomato appetizer, pepper-crusted filet and shrimp, grilled Hawaiian salmon, grilled corn on the cob, a beefsteak tomato and bacon salad, roasted tomato basil soup, and mixed berry lava cake.

The “prime time” menu, available 4-7 p.m. on weekdays, includes a variety of $3, $4, and $5 drinks and appetizers.

The new 6,275-square foot restaurant has seating for 240 guests and about 90 employees. It’s open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

“The people of LongHorn aim to be a positive force that makes real, substantive connections within the community,” the company states. “We support organizations and individuals who share our value of doing things the right way, through fundraising efforts, donations, and grants that benefit local organizations and causes.

As part of LongHorn’s pre-opening training period, the restaurant will host Friends & Family events with proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington

The LongHorn chain is owned by Darden Restaurants Inc. The Bailey's Crossroads restaurant is the fourth LongHorn Steakhouse in Northern Virginia. The others are in Chantilly, Manassas, and Dulles.
