“This race engages and informs the community about our organization’s inspirational work, while raising funds to help train and support the work of our volunteers,” says CASA spokesperson Ana Machado-Silva. CASA volunteers serve as advocates for abused and neglected children in the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
The race starts at the Fairfax County courthouse complex. There will be entertainment, food, prizes for the race winners, raffle prizes, and a Kids’ Fun Zone.
This annual event attracts nearly 1,000 runners and walkers and 250 volunteers and raises nearly $85,000 for CASA.
You can sign up online to participate in the race or volunteer. CASA encourages runners to sign-up with colleagues, friends, and family as a team. There are sponsorship opportunities, too. Click here to learn more.
