The Seven Corners Fire Station hosted a ceremony April 2 to dedicate a new fire engine to
former long-time firefighters Jack Biller and Capt. Thomas Wealand.

Biller started as a volunteer firefighter at the Annandale firehouse, then worked for many years as a career firefighter at the Annandale and Seven Corner stations. His son, Tony, a retired Fairfax County firefighter, and grandson, Thomas, who also works for the
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, were at the ceremony.

Wealand’s grandson worked at the Bailey’s Crossroads Fire Station for 10 years and is now on the technical rescue team.
So what will happen to the old fire engine? It will be based at the Fire Department headquarters and used as a replacement vehicle when other engines are being repaired, said Capt. Ray Griffin of the Seven Corners station.
