The long-empty storefront on the northern end of the Barcroft Plaza shopping center on Columbia Pike is finally getting a tenant – a Department of Motor Vehicles center.
It will offer the same services as other Virginia DMVs, including drivers licenses; vehicle registration; license plates; vehicle titles; voter registration; and applications for birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates.
Like other new DMVs, it will have a different countertop design with a printer between each station so the customer service representative can print documents on the spot. “That really saves time on every transaction,” Brubaker says.
The storefront has been vacant since a Korean restaurant closed in August 2013. Plans for a Glory Days Grill in that spot fell throughlast March.
