Suspect on bank camera. |
Fairfax County Crime Solversis offering a reward of $100 to $1,000 for tips leading to an arrest and indictment of a suspect wanted for bank fraud.
Last winter, a man opened a business account at the SunTrust Bank at 5821 Crossroads Circle in Bailey’s Crossroads and deposited a check in the new account. He later withdrew money from the account several times before the bank determined the check was counterfeit. The loss to the bank was more than $30,000.
A bank surveillance photo caught the man making the deposit on Jan. 13 at around 2:40 p.m. The bank waited several months before reporting the incident to the police and the police began an investigation Sept. 22.
The suspect presented a fraudulent driver’s license from Tennessee when he opened the account. Detectives believe this case may be linked to fraud cases in other jurisdictions and that other suspects might be involved.
