The Manoa bakery and café on Little River Turnpike in the Annandale Plaza Shopping Center could open as early as May 15, says Eun Ji Kim, who owns it with her husband, Min Kim. Manoa is in the space formerly occupied by another bakery, Le Matin de Paris, which closed last fall. New floors and kitchen equipment have been installed, but much work needs to be done.
Manoa will serve baked goods, coffee, tea, and various lunch items, such as pasta, sandwiches, and paninis. The menu will have both Korean and American-style food, all of it homemade, organic, with natural food colorings, Eun says. It will be open 7 a.m.-10 p.m. most days and until midnight on weekends.
